Manual Handling Awareness · On-site across the UK

Manual handling training that starts with the work your team does.

We bring passion and enthusiasm to manual handling training through practical activities, lively discussion and familiar workplace examples. Your team gets involved using relevant loads, equipment and tasks, with time to ask questions and share the challenges they face.

Discuss your training needs

Who is this course for?

Staff whose work involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or moving loads. We discuss the jobs people do before the session so the examples make sense to them. This is workforce awareness training; if colleagues will teach others, explore our Train the Trainer programme.

What will your team explore?

Look at the task

Discuss the load, the working area, available equipment and the way the task is organised.

Consider the options

Explore ways to avoid or reduce unnecessary handling, use available aids and recognise when a task needs further review.

Practise and discuss

Work through agreed activities with relevant loads and equipment, with feedback and time for questions.

A session with your team, rather than a script read at them.

We combine clear explanation with discussion and practical activities. If staff are moving furniture, handling deliveries or working with production materials, those familiar tasks can provide the starting point. We agree suitable activities with you before delivery.

Training is one part of managing manual handling. Equipment, task design, work organisation and supervision also need attention. The course does not replace a workplace risk assessment.

The practical details

Delivery

On site across the UK. We agree a suitable learning space and practical area before delivery.

Duration and group size

We confirm the format after discussing tasks, staff numbers and the practical work. Those details are stated in your quotation.

Assessment and certificates

We explain how learning will be checked and the certificate provided for the agreed course. Attendance is not a guarantee of competence in every task.

What should we arrange?

Tell us what people handle, any equipment they use and the situations you want the training to explore. We will discuss access, relevant loads, practical space and any adjustments needed for participation. Please avoid sending individual medical details through an enquiry.

Training for your setting

Tell us what your team needs.

Share the training you’re considering, your location, approximate numbers and preferred timing. If you’re unsure which course fits, tell us about the work your team does.
